Hello, friends!
Welcome to the Neurospicy Travel Bug! My name is Winnie, the writer and brains behind this blog. I started my travel journey in 2022, when my mom offered to take me to Spain with a local church group. Since then, I have been absolutely hooked on travel.
What originally got me hooked on travel was playing the game Geoguessr. In Geoguessr, players are put somewhere on earth, and they must guess as close as possible to where they actually are on the planet. I started playing this game in 2013 casually, and fully dived into it in March of 2022. I still love playing it to this very day.
This photo was taken at Nara Deer Park in Nara, Japan.
Fun facts!
01
My favorite travel destination that I’ve ever been to is Japan. That’s because I’m a big fan of things such as anime, Sanrio, and Japanese culture and history. I guess you can say Japan is one of my special interests.
02
I have visited or driven through half of the states in the USA.
03
I am an aspiring polyglot. I am currently in the process of learning Spanish, Dutch, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and French.

About the blog
The Neurospicy Travel Bug is a blog dedicated to my experience with traveling all while being neurodivergent. My goal is to encourage other neurodivergent people to travel more, and to show that we can travel, despite our setbacks and disabilities.
The term “neurospicy” is a casual way of saying someone is neurodivergent. I tend to use this term a lot, alongside “spicy brain”. It allows me to express that I am neurodivergent without sounding too unhappy or serious about it.
This blog is meant to be encouraging, and to show that anyone can travel.
About Winnie
Hello! My name is Winnie, a 30 year old travel blogger based in Delaware. I got hooked on travel after years of playing Geoguessr casually, but I got sucked into it in 2022. I started this blog because I love to share my experiences with the world and I want to prove that traveling while neurodivergent is possible.
For my neurodiversity, I am autistic and also have ADHD. I was late diagnosed with both (I got diagnosed with autism in December 2022 at 28 years old, and with ADHD June of 2024 at 29), and that has led me to learn so much more about myself. It’s been a long journey of self-discovery which I am happy to share with you.
Where have I been?
